| I am Looking for the Schmidt family from Germany. Anything having to do with the Studebaker name or the family car also from Germany. Dates ranging between the 1700's-1900's would be beneficial. I am certainly willing to share any information I currently have on these families.I do know that there was a man named Heinrich Studebaker. He was born in the 1700's and lived in Solingen, Germany. He was a cutler by trade and in 1736, departed from Germany with his two cousins Clement and Peter. They sailed to America and settled for a while in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania. There are a few Studebakers still in Northern Indiana. I haven't had much luck with this. I am willing to share further information on anything that I have that might help you!! Thank You,Abby E.
