Welcome to the In Search Of Rodger 1710-2004 Home page. Rodger O'Neal/SMITH was my great grandfather, he was born in Hyde Co. NC in 1850. His father was David Pain/MIDGETT b.abt.1816, and his mother was Louisa O'Neal/Credle b.abt. 1810. David was the son of America MIDGETT b.July 4, 1776 his mother was Ketty MIDGETT b. abt. 1782. America was the son of Charles MIDGETT b. abt.1734, his mother was Elizabeth JENNETT b.abt.1757, Elizabeth is said to have been on the English slave ship "Good Intent" which was believed to have been shipwrecked off the coast of Cape Hatteras NC. in 1767. The captain of the ship was named Copeland. Charles was the son of Maricay MIDGETT b.abt.1710 in Maracay Venezuela South America, His mother was Hannah MIDGETT b.abt.1714
