The Smith's Of Arkansas & Oklahoma

I am trying to research the Smith family origin.
I do know that My G.G.Ggrandparents came from Newton county, Arkansas(early 1800's)and later moved to Oklahoma, where there is still alot of the Cousins. I would like to go farther back into the Hills of Arkansas & learn more about my Kin.
