This early Morris family of New Jersey, New York can be traced back to about 1652.They intermarried with Dutch, French, English families of the area. This family is related by marriage of a Santvoord girl to Lewis Morris a signer of the Declaration of Independence and this Morris family, also of New York does not seem be be related to the Morris family described. My Wm Morris moved to Philadelphia about 1832 and then to LittlRock ,Arkansas in 1839. He later moved to Jackson County, Arkansas where he stayed. Wm. Bradford, first printer of NY and one who came with Wm. Penn and William Mercier a Priviateer during the Revolution are also members of this family.

I am researching the Morris,Tiers,LaRue,Santvoord,Mercier,Lane,
Proctor families of New York City and Boston. I am researching the Carpenter family of Va-Ky-Ark ; Sidwell family of Kentucky
