Lonzo Weathers was a farmer in Crawford County. He is reported to haveserved in the Civil War, even though he would have been very young. Hemarried Rebecca Sloan when he was 22 and she was 15 years old. Theyhad eight children, Lonzo died in 1931 at the age of 84 years andRebecca died one year later. They were both buried in MarengoCemetery.

Note: Alonzo served in the Union Army during the Civil War in the 24th Ind. Infantry. He was a member of the FAR and in his later years he made a trip to Denver, Co, for te 1929 National Encampment. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Goodman Riodge in 1885 and in later years studied his bible constantly. His funeral services were conducted in the Marengo Christian Church by Rev. Otho Jackson with a military buriel at the Marengo Cemetery by the Crawford Co. Post American Legion.
