Notes for Nathan H. Diefenderfer: Nathan's parents moved to Easton, Maryland, when he was nine years of age. Nathan married Ellen Newhard in January 1878. The 1880 Census for Talbot County shows him living with his parents, Moses and Anna. Thus, it is assumed that his first wife had died, possibly in childbirth. The marriage records for Talbot County show he was a widower at the time of his marriage to Emma Buker. The 1910 census shows the Dieffenderfer family living in District 1 of the town of Easton, Talbot County, MD, on Rittenhouse Road. That road is now named Schwaninger Road. |
