I am researching all four sides of my family: William and Maria
Wasson, Johannes Nicholas Unger and Catherine Hollinger, Joseph
Whittington and Mary Elizabeth Brown, and Jacob Snider, who was
one of the first settlers in Berkeley County, West Virginia.

I have learned that William Wasson was born in Rutherglen, Lanark, Scotland, in 1810. I have not yet learned what Maria's
maiden name was. It appears that the majority of the Wasson family still lives in Berkeley County, West Virginia.

I know that the Unger family came from Germany having settled
originally in the Lancaster area of Pennsylvania. Johannes Nicholas Unger moved to Morgan County, West Virginia, with his
wife, Catherine Hollinger; and a large number of Ungers still live in Morgan County. Some of them are also located in Berkeley County, West Virginia, and Frederick County, Virginia.

At the present time I have not yet ascertained where Joseph
Whittington was born nor who his parents were. I do know that
he married Mary Elizabeth Brown, and they had three childen:
Joseph, John W., and Catherine Rebecca, who married Samuel Barrett.

Jacob Snider was one of the first settlers in Berkeley County,
West Virginia, having moved there from Bedford County, Pennsylvania around 1732. His will recorded in the Berkeley
County Courthouse states that some of his older children remained
in Bedford County, Pennsylvania. I have also learned that his
son, Abraham, had children in Ohio as well as Berkeley County,
West Virginia.

If you have any information on any of these families, I would love to hear from you. I would be happy to share the information
I have with you as well.
