| .....Hello, How are all of you today. We are Don and Deborah {Brooks} Smith. We have been involved with searching our family history for over 30 years. We have research the family back to 120 a.d.. Three generations past Atilla the Hun. There are Kings and Queens, Dukes, Knights and Sherriffs. As of right now we can no longer add any more names to our web site. We can only have up to 2000 individuals. I am now up to 19,000 names on my program. If there is any more info that you might need or are interested in "Please Email at my Address" so we can compare notes. We are constantly updating and correcting and verifing the info that we have. If you find errors PLEASE EMAIL US. Some dead ends. Sometime luck strikes. Please feel free to look around and see if there is a connection. Have fun an dig those skeletons out of the closet. Some of the states that our family has lived in were MASSACHUSETTS, MAINE, VERMONT, NEBRASKA, TEXAS, NEW MEXICO, WEST VIRGINIA, RHODE ISLAND, CONNECTICUT, NEW JERSEY, MICHIGAN, ILLINIOS, INDIANA, OHIO, IOWA, OKLAHOMA, KENTUCKY, PENNSYLVANIA, TENNESSEE, ARKANSAS, MISSOURI, NORTH CAROLINA, SOUTH CAROLINA, VIRGINIA, WEST VIRGINIA, MISSOURI, CAILFORNIA, MARYLAND, NEVADA, NEW YORK, ARIZONA, IOWA, NEBRASKA, and GEORGIA. Other countries are RUSSIA, NORWAY, DENMARK, ITALY, SPAIN, BARBADOS, FRANCE, PRUSSIA, SCOTLAND, WALES, ENGLAND, GERMANY, CANADA, NORMANDY, SWEDEN, Middle East during the Crusades and IRELAND. We are trying to fill the holes in our research. Alexander ODREN {Odrienne/Adrionne}b 1791 in Detroit might be of french Indian descent. According to the 1820 census of Michigan, he was of color and from the time frame an their ages it comes pretty close to being him and his wife in Detriot at the time. There is a story that he told about meeting Tecumseh and being captured by the British during the War of 1812 and made to man a cannon on the main ship of the Britsh Navy. That British ship is the same one that Admiral Perry during the Battle of Lake Erie almost sunk. Lookig for his ancestors. Mary Jane COFFMAN that married Thomas RUSSELL in Monroe County, TN. Bealah BAYLESS/Bailes/Bayles that married Rueben Russell. Is this Thomas and Mary RUSSELL also the father of our Rueben RUSSELL from Blount County and North and South Carolina's that has relationships with Gary RUSSELL ancestors? Mary Bayless might be from Jefferson County. If you have information on a James V. DEAN of Gallatin County, Kentucky and his parents William an Sarah E. Unknown from VIRGINIA or maybe even WestVirginia. Lincoln Herman ROBERTS from Pennsylvannia. He died in Michigan. His parents Issac ROBERTS and Elizabeth BROWN and they also died in Michigan. Samuel R BROOKS and Melissa RIGGS, She had gotten remarried, and her remarried name is RIGGS, maiden name of POSEY,they are from around Athens, TN. She was born in Bradley County, TN and her parents were from Georgia. They had a son there by the name of William Jerome BROOKS and a sister name of Ada which later died from catching her night gown on firs in Sale Creek, TN when she was sixteen years old. Also the rumor of them being Cherokee. Clarey FINN, Pearl??, and Margaret Hargraves that were married to Samuel McCaughan from around Equality County, Illinios. Also looking for info on James Henry THOMAS later changed his last name to COLE, between 1920 an 1938 when he married Mary Maggibell RUSSELL. Looking for info on Thomas STARKEY and his family. They were in Boston, MA, during the 1690'S. Also there was a ADAMS that was married into the family at that time. Possibility James Henry {COLE} THOMAS was Cherokee. The info I have found is that they were using the Thomas name back a few generations an that is one of the trade marks of the Cherokee. It was a maternal society. All the mother had to do to get a divorce is to set her spouses stuff out the front door. There might be a connection with the McKee's from that area. He was from Loudon County, Tennessee. Census shows in the 1920 ce |
