Revolutionary War Veteran. Helped found the Old Indian Bottom Baptist Church in 1810. In 1815 he helped found the Sandlick Church with 41 members lettered out of the original church. He is buried in Watty Caudill Cemetery, Dry Fork, Letcher Co. Either by land grant for war service or as one family tale goes for his Kentucky rifle, he got ownership of the entire mouth of Sandlick bottom, Very little remains in family hands today.
