BEANLAND
Edsel G. Beanland, 76, Eldon, died July 1, 1999, at his home.
He was born Oct. 9, 1922, in Barnett, a son of Edward T. "Ted" and Minnie Josephine Bookout Beanland. He was married Sept. 14, 1944, in Stowmarket, Suffolk County, England, to Doris M. Hawkins, who survives at the home.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a water well driller for most of his life. He invented the tire bead breaker and the concept of armor plating to protect pilots.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Barbara Clifford, Cole Camp; three sons, Ernest Gerald Beanland, Kansas City, and Howard Lynn Beanland and Bobby Edsel Beanland, both of Eldon; one brother, Howard Dale Beanland, Collinsville, Ill.; two sisters, Fern Koleson, Collinsville, and Jewel Daugherty, Edwardsville, Ill.; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Edward Fort Beanland.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Howard Lynn Beanland and Pastor Ray Hogan will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in Eldon City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to Lake Ozark Hospice.
