2. WILLIAM HENRY2 SMITH (WILLIAM1) was born November 29, 1891 in England, and died January 18, 1969 in Pincher Creek, AB. He married CATHERINE ANNE TREDWELL December 13 in Vancouver, BC. She was born December 13, 1893 in Berrick Newington , England.

ILLIAM HENRY SMITH:
Harry enlisted in WWI and was stationed in Vancouver BC where he married his wife Catherine and had son Jake. After the war he worked for a time in a packing plant there and also in Calgary. It was in Calgary that son Nathan was born and died. Harry and Catherine moved to his fathers unoccupied land at Beauvais Lake AB in 1922. The rest of the children were born here. They farmed the land known as the Upper Smith Place until 1948 when they moved to what was to become known as the Lower Smith Homestead closer to Beauvias Lake. He served for a time during WWII as a Commissioner for about 10 years in Clairsholm AB then in Banff AB for about 3 years until aprox 1959. In 1956 the family moved to Pincher Creek AB. Harry worked at the B-A plant until he retired in 1961.

ATHERINE ANNE TREDWELL:
Catherine's mother Annie died quite young and Catherine was raised by a stepmother who was not fond of her. She had a rather unloving childhood was treated rather poorly. She also had a stepsister.

Nathan died at birth and is burried in Calgary

  Notes for CHARLES SMITH:
One day when Charlie was about 14 years old he was chasing Bill Akitt's horses to round them up. His horse turned quickly and he fell but his foot was caught in the stirrup. He was dragged about 2 miles befor John Lawrence saw what was happening and got the horse stopped. (as told by Wilbur Smith)

4. JACOB2 SMITH (WILLIAM1) was born 1898 in Walkden, Lancashire, England, and died December 1947 in Pincher Creek, AB. He married ANN ???.

Notes for J
ACOB SMITH:
Jacob came to Canada with his family when he was 5 years old. He married an English girl named Ann and had a son. He was shell shocked in WWI and after his return his wife had him committed to a hospital in Panoka, AB where he spent most of the rest of his life. In October of 1947 he returned to the Upper Smith Farm and died there two months later in December.The whereabouts of his wife Ann and his son Billie (William?) are unknown. They are not even mentioned in his obituary. He is burried in Fairview Cemetary in Pincher Creek AB
