Notes for MARTHA LUTRICIA MCKNIGHT: The Clinton (Okla.) Daily News: Monday 20 March 1944 Mrs Mattie Smith ILL Mrs Mattie Smith, mother of E. G. Smith, manager of the United Burial association, was admitted to the Western Oklahoma hospital this morning as the result of a cerebral hemorrhage. Mrs Smith became ill at 8:30 A.M. at her home at 522 1/2 Frisco Ave.. Her condition is considered serious by her attending physician. The Clinton (Okla.) Daily News: March 1944 Mrs. Martha Smith Buried Saturday Last rites for Mrs. Martha L. Smith who died at the Western Oklahoma State hospital Saturday morning will be conducted at 2:30 today at the Wheeler Funeral home with Rev. Edwin W. Parker in charge. Burial will be in the Clinton cemetery. Mrs. Smith's death resulted from a paralytic stroke suffered several days ago. Survivors include four sons. W. W. of Clovis, NM: Wayman of Pampa, TX; Thomas H. of Waco, TX.; E. "Dub" suddenly had a memory of his father Waymon taking an old hand bell out of an old trunk where he kept old pictures.
