       3. Elijah² Dean (Richard¹) was born Abt. 1784 in Laurens Co., GA, and died 10 Nov 1858 in Dale Co., AL. He married Martha Page 27 Sep 1814 in Laurens Co., GA², daughter of Henry Page.

Notes for Elijah Dean:
Buried in the Mount Olive Community, Near Rocky Head in Dale Co., AL.

       Elijah Dean served in the War of 1812. He also served in the Georgia Militia from 1815 to about 1840. When he retired from service, he had attained the rank of Major.
       In about 1830, Elijah bought land in Houston Co., Ga. He received bounty land in Houston Co., for serving in the Militia. While in Houston Co., he organized a batillion of the militia for Houston Co., Perry P.O.
       Elijah bought land in Muscogee Co., Ga. in about 1840. He farmed that land until around 1850 when he moved with his sons to Alabama and bought over 2000 acres of land near Rocky Head, Alabama, in Dale Co.
       Elijah helped to organize Mt. Olive Primative Baptist Church in Dale Co.
