* JOHN H. JACKSON, SR., DESCENDANTS AND AFFILIATED FAMILIES*

Updated August 12, 2008

I began researching genealogy when I read my grandmother's copy of the JOHN H. JACKSON GENEALOGY compiled by ALTA MAE JACKSON HART and decided to place this work on the net as an open forum for others to use. This home page begins with JOHN HARRISON JACKSON, SR. followed by GENEALOGY REPORTS labeled: DESCENDANTS OF JOHN HARRISON JACKSON, JR., DESCENDANTS OF EZEKIEL J. JACKSON, SR., as well as a GENEALOGY REPORT labeled DESCENDANTS OF ENOCH WINCHESTER JACKSON, ESQUIRE which includes both Enoch's sons, MERIT CRAIG JACKSON and ENOCH WINCHESTER JACKSON, JR. and their descendants.

I have added and confirmed a great deal of information through the help of Dave Mitchell's internet site at http://www.calweb.com/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/dmitch/tree; the LDS site at http://www.familysearch.org; familytreemaker.com using info from the Ewbank/Smith families; http://www.orvf.com and various miscellaneous sites of record. Also, additional information has been added by several Jackson and affiliated descendants since this site was originally placed on the internet. A special thank you goes to Mark Jackson who edited the Ralph Jackson family pictures so they might be viewed and shared by all.

The LITTLEFIELD FAMILY joined the JACKSON FAMILY through the marriage of Enoch White JACKSON and Rosa May LITTLEFIELD on May 10, 1893. Ancestral information was supplied by Ken Akers, Neil Garrish and the compiled works of Marguerite (Fleury) Kernaghan. With their help, I was able to tie my Littlefield line to the extensive Littlefield Family. The GENEALOGY REPORT labeled DESCENDANTS OF EDMUND LITTLEFIELD lists only one descendant line of the Littlefield family. The MCCONNEHEY FAMILY joined the JACKSON FAMILY through the marriage of Eva Amanda JACKSON and John Eldon MCCONNEHEY on September 17, 1917. The GENEALOGY REPORT labeled DESCENDANTS OF WILLIAM MCCONNEHEY could not have been accomplished without the help of Tim Singleton and Judy Baumann. Through their efforts I was able to locate my ancestors and then add to their lineage. The ARENZ/WUERSCH/BACH/FRAME/BALTICH FAMILIES are linked with the JACKSON FAMILY through the marriage of John Eldon and Eva Amanda (JACKSON) MCCONNEHEY'S daughter, Doris Della (MCCONNEHEY) BALTICH and Orin Fred FRAME on August 24, 1945. This GENEALOGY REPORT labeled DESCENDANTS OF MARGARET ARENZ was compiled by sorting through notes, correspondence and some documents kept by my Great Aunt, BESSIE (WUERSCH) PAWLOSKI. Through her years of diligence and love of genealogy research, I was able to contact many descendants who have shared their family information and made this compiled genealogy possible.

As you will see, there are discrepancies in dates and I have noted those to the best of my ability. I would be most interested in any information that could be shared to add individuals, confirm, or update this work. This site is also linked to the World Connect Project located at the following address: http://www.rootsweb.com

"Let us all understand that death is not an eraser. It does not remove the deeds or the meaning that existed in anyone's life. It does not make poor men rich or great men fallible. And when death comes, let us not romanticize its presence nor the person it takes from us. Let us see death for what it really is: a border that we all must cross, a border that, more than any other, defines the lives we are able to lead. Do not mourn for those who cross over. Rather, reflect on the definition they've left behind. It is the only truth we are able to know here on earth. When the definition is great, then celebrate it. When it is lacking, then learn from it and improve on it. And use it to make your own definition more truthful and loving and miraculous." Andrews, Russell "Gideon".
