Notes for GUY RAMETTA: Grandma Jesse had decided to go back to Italy because she was very sick and she did not want to leave her children to be raised by strangers. Guy was her youngest brother. He was going to return to Italy with her and the children. It was his last day of work in the coal mines. She begged him not to go to the mines and stay home and help her. He went anyway. The whistle sounded and she knew that it was her brother who was trapped. They pulled him from the mines and he died the next day. . |
