This is a Worrell family photograph which was taken abt 1922 or 23. The man to the far right is my ggrandfather, Elmer Shumate, and next to him is my grandfather Herman. The rest on that end are brothers to Elmer: Eugene, Jasper (Jap), William Loton (Lote). If you can identify any one in the photograph, please let me know.

Evert Farley and Effie Myrtle Poland Farley were my great grand parents. Their daughter, Mary Ruth Farley Shumate was my grandmother. Mary Ruth Farley and Herman Shumate were the parents of my mother Dorothy Jean Shumate (Thomas 1st husband) Smith. I am looking for Pence descendants, Schrowe descendants and Maud Case (another daughter of Elizabeth's) descedants.

The photograph reads that it was mom's reunion at Lebanon. That would be Lebanon, IN and Effie would have written that about her mother Elizabeth Ellen Adams Poland. Does anyone know whether these are the Cases or not and who the Jones? are, or who the unknowns are?

The young man on the far left is my ggrandfather Elmer Floyd Shumate. The center lady may be Flora Louemma Shumate Shockley. The man on the far right is probably Charles Harden Shumate. The woman on the far right is Elvira Worrell Shumate Bowles (my gggrandmother). The other, younger boys may be Jasper (Jap), Eugene, William Loton (Lote). Written on the back of this photograph apparently by my gggrandmother, is "uncle Henry Poland uncle Sam Poland" I would say that these are the sons of William Poland.

Here is the final proof that Elvira Worrell married Charles W. Shumate instead of his brother Samuel. They married in Surry Co NC June 2, 1869.
