William Mooney, Sr. was in the coastal Carolinas (Bladen, Columbus and Brunswick Co., NC) as early as the 1760's and served as a JP.- As told by Karen Clark. E-mail kclark969@aol.com.

At an Unknown Time William Mooney Sr. Served as a Justice Judge of Brunswick Co. and also as an Official of Columbus Co. when it was formed in 1808. He had about 8 daughters and 4 or 5 sons. The 1790 census list 3 men, John, Thomas and William Mooney (possibly brothers?) all living in Columbus and Brunswick Co., area. They all were listedas having sons and all 3 served in the Revolutionary War. Census shows that William lived to be more than 90yrs old.- As told by Donna. E-mail OGollyme@aol.com.
