Founder of the York County, Pennsylvania LeFevre's. His father, Philip, died when he was 8 years old. Being a minor under 14, the Orphan's Court of Lancaster County appointed his father's nephew John LeFevre (8-001) of Strasburg Township the guardian of his estate, as his father was quite wealthy. In 1773 he lived in West Lampeter Township, Lancaster County, but in the spring of 1774 it is believed he moved to York Township, Pa. On Nov. 3, 1773 he bought from Christian Schibly, of York Township, York Co., Pa., 200 acres of land in York Township for pounds 1050 ($5100). His brother George (8-005) was one of the witnesses to the deed. The tract had been bought from the Penns on Oct. 30, 1736.

After the death of his wife Susanna, he married on Aug. 29, 1775, (Date from Patricia A. Howard <BLHV97A@prodigy.com>), Catherine Peterman of Windsor Township, York Co., Pa. On Mar. 11, 1783, John Peterman of Windsor Township sold to Jacob LeFevre of York Township 200 acres 46 perches for pounds 382m about $1,860. On Dec. 15, 1783 he bought from Ulrey Neff for pounds 22 all the grain in the ground of 22 acres, also 1 cow, 3 heifers, 2 feather beds, 1 chaff bed, 1 chest, and 1 large Bible. On May 21, 1787 he bought from Christian Rathlon, of Windso Township, 1001 acres, neat measure, including dower rights, for pounds 1050, about $5,100. He was Justice of the Peace in 1804.
