Searching for Sneeds of Tenn. My great great grandfather was Albert Sneed, grandfather Robert Bob Sneed and Grandmother Viola Gibson Sneed, Robert had 3 brothers, Jimmy, Oscar and ????, 4 sisters, Emmie, Sarah Ann, Lovie and the youngest ?????, the youngest girl lived in Elizabethon, Tn., worked at Bimburg. Lovie and husband Lida White lived in Jonesbouro, Lida drove a Taxi. Lovie and Lida kept Lovie's mother Mrs. Albert Sneed. Jimmy and Oscar lived in Limestone with Oscar living more toward Athens. Jimmy had at least one son Howard Sneed. Robert Bob and Viola moved to Johnson City, Tn. they had several sons and one daughter Cora, my dad Homer Carl Sneed was first married to Mattie Lee Lovelace abt. July 1, 1940 on the date of their son's (Homer Carl Sneed Jr.) birth. Mattie, little Homer, Mattie's mother and maybe Mattie's little sister was killed in an auto accident in Johnson City, Tn. on Dec. 31, 1940. Homer Sr., Mattie's dad and Mattie's brother's son survived the crash. They were hit broadside while turning onto the street where they lived off old 11-E. and I believe this happened across from the old "Browns Mill". Could use some dates as well as some missing names***********Ron Sneed********* |
