| Hi! I'm Bob Snipes, founding member and current president of an organization called Snipes Family of America (SFA). A small group of us first met in 1979 to organize a non-profit entity to coordinate genealogical research on the Snipes, Snipe, Snypes, Snape and associated families. We have now issued around 650 membership certificates. We publish a quarterly newsletter, "The Snipes Hunter" a membership directory, and a listed subgrouping of members by branches. SFA has published several family histories available for sale to anyone interested. We hold nation-wide semi-annual conferences where we meet each other and we share what we know. Snipes Family of America is all about fellowship, education, and information exchange. The dues are $20 for the initial year, with a $15 renewal, primarily to cover newsletter, certificate, directory production and mailing expenses. In addition to the benefits listed above, being a member provides you access to our database. We'd love to welcome you to membership. Or use the file included at the bottom of this page. Our Director of Research, Judy Harward, is working on the links of our earliest immigrants back to England, most likely through Barbados. Our other continuing project is refining and adding to a database of over 62,000 individuals related to the Snipes family, an effort led by Bill Snipes of Bremerton, WA. As our Database Archivist, Bill works with various Snipes family "branch managers" to maintain database, respond to queries, and "place" new members in the vast Snipes puzzle. Bill has his own home page here on FTM and he has posted selected Snipes trees from the database which he rotates from time to time, so check back. He would love to exchange information which will help establish where these particular branches fit.
