| This page is for the descendents of two families. James Snodie, who immigrated from Ireland in 1857, and his children, one son by his first wife Elizabeth, and the rest from his second wife Mary McNeil, who was born in Canada to Scottish parents, and came to the US in 1849. Henry Buchholz and Mary Miller were both born in Wisconsin to immigrant parents from Germany. The Snodie's lived in Waterford, Mukwanago, East Troy, Lyons, Troy and Lafayette. The Buchholz family lived in Waterford, East Troy, and Lyons. These towns are clustered in a tri-county area of southern Wisconsin. Walworth, Racine and Waukesha counties border each other in this area. They lived there between the 1860's and early 1900's. James & Mary Snodie had two sons and four daughters. Henry and Mary Buchholz had two sons and seven daughters. The two Snodie sons, William and James, married the two oldest Buchholz sisters, Lousia and Wilhelmina. The married names of the married daughters were Talcott, Sengbusch & Dillenbeck. Any information you may wish to share would be appreciated. I am willing to send information on mutaul relatives to those who request it. I also am working on the following surnames: Reish, Gardner, Thurloff, Macholdt, Housley/Owsley, Orne, Hartman ,Uittenbogard, Baker, & Miller. On my wife's side of the family I am working on Goff, Wiedemer, Langdon, Culver, Gile, Johnson & Hurley. If you are working on any of these family names I would be happy to exchange information. |
