About Our Family Research

Dear Friends:

My wife and I are serving as missionaries in the Dominican Republic that is a long plane trip away from the nearest genealogy library that would help me in my research. However, thanks to perhaps many of you, I have been able to continue my research over the Internet. You have been most kind and I encourage those who have not done so, to share their information in this way.

In general, I am researching these major lines - Hawkins (by far the most complete), Snow, Corcoran, Hemming, MacKenzie, and Hoffman. My Hawkins line is the William Hawkins-Elizabeth Bourne line. I thought I had made an important break through when I discovered information indicating William's father was Benjamin Hawkins. If this were true, this would have led me to Sir John Hawkins who died off of the coast of Puerto Rico close to where I now live. However, further research indicated that this might not be a valid connection. I would appreciate any additional information about this line. I have not included generations above William Hawkins, because I cannot be certain of this connection. However, I have research materials on the many Hawkins that descended fro Sir John.

I am also stumped on generations beyond Lacy Snow and Lucrisa Barton. I would enjoy some help on this and, of coarse, my other lines.

Thanks again to all Internet contributors. I hope my little bit of information helps some of you, as other have helped me.

God Bless
Bob Snow
