Find Family

* The Al Soileaus of Opelousas, La.*

Updated May 28, 2001

I am researching the Thomas Edward Crofton and Matthew Farrell families. Edward Crofton was born in Ireland about 1845. The first reference of him in America was his marriage to Emma Hall in Vicksburg, Miss. in 1867. I am trying to identify his parents, who I believe to be Thomas Edward Crofton and Margaret Terrell. When did he come to America and from where in Ireland. He may have had a brother named Richard, who died in Vicksburg in 1894.

Additionally, I am trying to gather information on the Matthew Farrell family of Jackson, Miss. He married a Catherine from Louisiana. I believe her maiden name was McMullen. When did he come to America, and from where in Ireland? He was a printer, and is buried in Greenwood City Cemetery with his wife. There are a Marcell and Robert Farrell, an older couple, buried there also. Were they his parents?
