The Soistmann/Soistman Family Research Center

Anyone with any additional information for the surname of Soistman or Soistmann please contact me, I need your help.

My great grandfather was Adolph George Soistmann born in Pennsylvania about 1867 and later moved to New Jersey in the early 1900's. His father was Frederick A. Soistmann born approx. 1828 in Gesecke, Westfalen, Germany. Frederick arrived in Baltimore on 22 December 1854. Adolph married Katherine C. Rooney in approx. 1887 probably in Philadelphia, PA.

Charles A. Soistmann born approx. 1854 in PA (parents undetermined) can be found living in Baltimore, MD 1n 1900 with wife Amelia (maiden name unknown) and 8 children. Some or all of this family dropped the second "n" and became Soistman.

Conrad Soistmann born approx. 1816 in Prussia arrived in Boston 1846 married Margaret Trucksess and in the 1870 Census shows children John, Ann, Charles, and Emma in Philadelphia.

Charles Joseph Soistmann born approx. 1812 arrived in Baltimore in 1837 as Joseph and appears to be living in Philadelphia in 1844 as Charles. May have married Auguste (last name unknown) in Philadelphia (guessing here).

Louis Soistmann arrived in New York in 1865 with Theresa (wife?) and children Werner, Joseph, Ernest and Henry.

Also from Germany to PA is Theodore Soistmann. Immigration data unknown. Listed in 1870 as a Physician in Rochester, PA.
