Updated September 6, 2000

SojdakMartin Sojdak arrived to the United States (Ellis Island) fromPoland on June 3, 1903 on the Barbarossa. Rumor has it that he changed his name as soon as he arrived. He was naturalized on January 9, 1941. The natualization papers do not say if he changed his name. He was born in Wolko Wielko,Poland (I'm not sure if this place exists or the person filling outthe naturalization papers wrote it as he heard it). I would like tofind out if he changed his name when he arrived. I am beginingto think he did since there are only few of us in the United States, I have yet to look internationally. I would like some advice on how to look further and will accept any information on this man.
