Welcome to the Schenker Family home page!
I am documenting my Schenker family in the US. My grandparents, Eige Freundlich and Sender Schenker each emigrated to the United States from Galicia (part of the Austrian Empire, now in Ukraine) in the early 1900s.
Eige was born in Halicz, Galcia in 1883. She adopted the name Ida after she came to the US in 1900.. Sender was born in Borislav, Galicia, around 1869. He used the same Samuel after he arrived in the US in 1907, but later reverted to Sender.
I am also researching ancestors in Halicz, Borislaw, Jesupol and Stanislawow, all in Austria (now Ukraine).
This is a work in progress - I expect to keep changing and updating it. Please feel free to contact me with any additional information, corrections or questions.
