 Includes NotesNotes for Abraham Ackerman:
Abraham was illiterate this is confirmed on his Marriage and his wife's Death Certificate. The 1891 census indicates that the family occupied 2 cottages, some 10 years late the 1901 Census indicates that Abraham was a widower and the families requirements were more modest needing only 1 cottage.

Half-Acre Row was a line of houses at the back of Love Lane in Mitcham. These houses have long since gone & used to stand on a now empty plot called Fieldgate Lane. If you view a map its between Love Lane & the Gas works at the back of Westfield Road & Taffys How. The info I have for Half Acre Row the houses were bought by George Pitt, a quaker & shopkeeper, re-conditioned & re-named by him as 'Ressurrection Place'
