Immigrant William Sprenckel descendant - Elmadorous N. Sprinkle (1810-1888). Elmadorous was the s/o William Sprinkle & Mary Terrell of Smyth Co., VA. Elmadorus, his father and two oldest brothers, John & Henry, manufactured hats as "William Sprinkle & Sons, Hatters." Elmadorus was apparently a travelling hatter. In this capacity he peddled hats up the Wilderness Road to Pennsylvania and down the Kanawha River to Ohio. In later year, he & his 3rd wife owned the Sprinkle Hotel in Marion, Smyth Co., but they continued to sell hats as well (photo courtesy of his great, great granddaughter, Sue Sprinkle of Alaska)
