Niels, his wife Mette Marie, and daughters, Else Marie, Johanna Olrikka, and Caroline Louisa emigrated sometime before 1886. They settled in the town of Blackstone, Illinois, and eventually all settled near Gardner, Grundy County, Illinois.
Soren and Christina had eleven more children in Blackstone, Livingston County, Illinois. Laurits (Lawrence) Andersen Sorensen; Marius (Mike) Nielsen Sorensen; Andreas (Andrew)Nielsen Sorensen; Hans Jacob Sorensen; Christian Nielsen Sorensen; Anna Marie Sorensen; William Sorensen; Fredrik Sorensen; Mette (Matie)Marie Sorensen; Marie (Julia) Julia Sorensen; and Olga Dusina Sorensen.
