I am researching my father's line, the Hild family from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. My father's great-grandfather was Bernard Hild, married to Anna Maria Beaufink in 1863 in Houghton Co, Mi. Family lore is Bernard came to the U.S. illegally, and it has been difficult to find many records for him. Any help would be appreciated. My grandfather, John Henry Hild II grew up in Baraga, MI and attended Michigan Tech University in Houghton, MI. Graduated as a Mining Engineer, had a brother named Russell ans a sister named Marcella. My grandmother's name was Grace Hull, daughter of William P. and Sophia Jensen Hull, from Wisconsin. I would appreciate knowing of any cousins, aunts or uncles that could provide any family info., and I would be happy to share what I have gathered.
