Coghills of Hamilton, Scotland

Our father was born in China and the grand parents were buried there. My brothers and sisters were very curious as to who we were and where we came from. One day my son set me a challenge, and I have been searching, not only for the Coghills, who I have now traced to Caithness in Scotland, but also took on the task of looking for my husbands family.
I "almost" have all 16 sets of great,greats,on both sides of the family with a few extras. I spend on average three or four hours a week in libraries and archives and about ten to fifteen hours a week on the net, researching any genealogy I can find.
I have by sheer chance, contacted many relatives on the net. Becky in the USA, we were born about half a mile distance, and we e-mail each other on a regular basis with finds. Her GT.Granddad was my maternal Grandmothers` brother. But I have still to update that side of my tree, I leave most of the updating and writing for the winter months, when the weather is too bad to go off travelling.
