| Having concentrated on building a Sparks information site on which I have placed research information gathered over many years I rather neglected this home page if you want to view the information sites follow the links on this page information will also be placed on this home page as soon as time allows this information will relate to my family. Researching the family name of Sparks/Sparkes 1200 to present day. My research area's are Devonshire and ajoining counties in England the families farmed in the villages of Dunkeswell uffculm, Sheldon, churchstanton.Clayhidon whilst at Plymouth they were Businessmen and adventurers that sailed to far of lands. At Brixham they were trawlermen and deepsea Mariners. In Wales they were coal miners iron and tinplate workers steelworkers. We are researching the name in the counties of East. Mid, West, Glamorgan in South Wales 1700 to present day the families worked in the coalmines of the Llantrisaint Llangienor Caeru and Port Talbot area,s 1800-1900 Possible connections through marriage to the DE LA Moors of Morehayse manor a very powerfull family of Norman Barons who came with William the conqurer. This family manor was to pass into the Blackmore family when the last of the Moor family a woman married into the Blackmore family another important family of the West Country. We are possible related through Marriage to Sir Walter Raliegh and Sir Frances Drake. We also believe a connection with the family of John Sparke of Nantwich near Chester exists this was a very important family from the 1200 through to modern times who shaped politics and history through their endevours and valour. Bishop Bower Edward Sparke Bishop of Ely and his son Edward Bowyer Sparke reverand at Feltwell in Norfolk two of many famous Sparks. We are at this time activly researching this information for we have proved the link to the Plymouth Sparke family.
