I am researching my family history, particularly the Rourke's, also known as Rook, Rourk & Rouke. The Rourke's came from County Down in Ireland in the early 1800's and settled in Hexham, Northumberland and in Newcastle, Tyne & Wear. Many of them worked in the Shipbuilding industry. The other paternal family members I am researching are the McCready's, also coming from Down, Ireland, in the 1800s. They too settled in Newcastle & Hexham.
