I am researching the AUTREY and HUDGENS families from Alabama. The were primarily from the counties of Conecuh, Butler, Lowndes and Crenshaw. Both families may have followed a traditional migration pattern from the Carolinas to Alabama. My records for them date back to the early 19th century. My earliest records are for Robert A. Autrey, Sr. and John Hudgens. Besides locating relatives, I would be most interested in tracing the families back prior to their arrival in Alabama.
In addition, I'm researching the SOWELL and DENNIS families. These families seemed to circulate around southeast Alabama and Georgia, and north Florida. Alabama counties in which they were at one time located include Henry and Houston. I have little information on these families, and what I have dates back only to the late 19th century.

Any information would be appreciated. And I would be happy to share the information I have. The family trees of these four families can be found at www.flash.net/~daybyday. Or just click on "Grandma Jean's House" at the top of this page. Stop by for a visit. We can have a virtual cup of tea!
