The Spences of Boone County, MO

This research was compiled by Jim Spence using research from Homer Dickey, Catherine Gibbs, George William Wright's "The Wright Family, 1066 -- 1929" and various contacts on the internet.

I have concentrated on the Spence, Gibbs, Wright and Fisher lines.

The earliest Spence ancestor (verified) was Andrew who died in Mercersburg, PA in 1799. His father was likely Collin who is shown to have owned land in Peters township in 1751 and Andrew named one of his sons Collin. It's interesting that first names of my early Spence ancestors went; Andrew, Samuel, Andrew, Samuel, Andrew. The last Andrew was my Grandfather.
