I have always been fascinated by history ... people, places, events, and times. I even pursued history in college and graduate school because of this.

Now I find that I am putting all of what I have learned and loved to the test in trying to build my families' links to the past.

For the moment, I'm going to concentrate on my lineage. The Spencer side will come at a later time. As you may be able to tell from the family tree, the Gaudios, Tannascolis, and the Pearces are proving to be a bit difficult to locate!

The Gaudios and the Tannascolis came over from Italy in the early 1900s... I'm only 3rd generation American on that side. Needless to say, this will be quite a challenge to trace back! In addition, the Tannascolis had their name changed when they came through Ellis Island! [originally it was IANNASCOLI]

And then there are the Pearces, for whom I named my son. The Civil War destroyed a lot of their records in North Carolina, and so I often hit dead ends....

However, I shall prevail! If I learned nothing else while majoring in history in college and graduate school, I learned to be tenacious!

If you should have any additional information that might prove to assist my endeavor, please feel free to email me! I am not afraid to ask for help! Additionally, I am willing to share information with those who find that they are related ...

Enjoy!
