The only direct relatives with that name that we know are in the Wash DC area as well as my family in Phil. PA area. Ten years ago I was contacted by a gentleman from the Cleveland OH area with the last name of Splain. We were both decendants of a John Splain that came from Ireland the same year but the similarities ended their. Each had children of different names. I speculate that they were cousins that got of the boat at different ports.
