My Sporn ancestors came from Germany, possibly Trieste, and came to the U.S. sometime in the mid 1850s. Solomon Sporn lived in Manhattan from at least 1882 and maybe earlier. His wife was Lena Meichel Sporn and they had at least four sons named Maxwell, Frederick, Manuel and Harry. There might have been another brother named Hugo who might have been born in Germany. My mother's maiden name was England and came from Bristol, England in the early 1920s. I'm also researching my late wife's family, Woodhouse, who came from Ontario, Canada. Manuel J.
