I am researching the SNYDER family from Dolores County, Colorado, and San Juan County, Utah. John Snyder first appears in the 1850 census in Ross County, Ohio, and was married to Elizabeth Kampf (Kempf or Campf). His father's name was David Snyder from Holland or Germany. I have no further information on David. John may have been born in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and served in the War of 1812. John and Elizabeth had 12 children, 11 of whom grew to maturity: Catherine, Margaret, Elizabeth, Anthony, Mathias, Barbara, Christiana, John, David, Conrad, and Henry. Sarah (12th child) died young. In addition, I am researching the ELROD family of Baca Country, Colorado. The earliest information I have on the Elrods is Christopher Elrod, born 1/29/1721 in Pennsylvania. He married Aletna Soell in Rowan County, North Carolina. They had 10 children: Adam, Sarah, Catherine, Margaret, Christopher, Robert, John B., Altze, Mary B., and Lydia.Any information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have.
