History:
Generally speaking, all Sprungers are related. Our religious and cultural heritage make it almost a certainty. My research goes back to 1975. I have a published genealogy that goes back to the 1400's in Switzerland, the home of our earliest known forefathers.
The Sprungers were among three families to settle a small town in Indiana, they named Berne. Their religious background was that of the Reformed Church, also known as Anabaptists. Many later became Mennonites. There was a great exodus following WWII and now, we are found all over the world, practicing many faiths.
Some of the other surnames I am researching are Scoville, Owens and Kurtz. Indications to date are that they came from New York, through Ohio/Indiana and up into Michigan. I discovered a bound genealogy and family history for the Scoville family published in 1915. It begins the genealogy with John Scoville arriving in the Massachusetts colony prior to 1700. The family history portion covers the Scoville family in England following William the Conqueror's invasion. My "presumed" ancestor was awarded a knighthood, title & land for services rendered during the war.
Also, I have begun research in conjunction with some new found cousins on Food/Foot, Carnrike, Myers and others.
