I am researching the Springett, Emery, Leisse and Bowers families. The Springetts I have traced directly only back to about 1870. The Emery direct links (thanks to the old family bible goes back to 1785. There is some connection to the Penn family (of Pennsylvania fame) as William married a springett daughter, also there is a family chapple attached to the village church in Ringmer near Hastings in England. The church has records going back to the doomsday book around 1066-1068 and also records the doings of a Knight at the battle of Agincourt. One Sir Hillary Springett. The Leisse branch of the family seems to be of Hugenot descent and appears to have settled in the Hochsauerland area of Germany in the 17 or 18 hundreds. Any information would be gratefully received and if I can assit with your tracing please ask. Oh yes! there is also a Springett coat of arms and somewhere the Heraldry people have produced a book with a family history starting prior to the doomsday book. I have ordered the book and will update the tree if I should find any links.
