My tree has roots that reach over the seas to Europe. Some of my ancestors came centuries ago, and others are fairly recent to this land. From Ireland, Scotland, Germany, and Holland they came, and married and mixed until we came along!
Our surname of SPRAGUE hails from New York state, Franklin County. Roland L. SPRAGUE was the son of Joseph SPRAGUE and Myrtle KEITH. According to the birth certificate for Roland, Myrtle had 10 children with her first husband ? SKEELS.

I have now been able to track the SPRAGUE name back to Samuel b. 1773, and Caty <Cathy> DENTON.

The ADAMS are well documented, however, I am still looking for some of the in-law familes.

A breakthrough in the EASTON family has also occurred, and will be updated soon. Family stories are not always to be trusted, and I found John the youngest of a New York family.

John EASTON married Isabel LEDGERWOOD (NOT Legerwood or legetwood). Isabel was born in Scotland according to the census of Washington Twp, Washington Co. Iowa.

The next name on the census was James CORBIN *, wife Mary, and two daughters. The following name was William CORBIN, b. abt 1806;wife Mary, b. 1811; George, b. abt 1845 and Louisa E. b. about 1848. They also had James EASTON * living with them, and a woman named Sarah.
(*I believe James may have been the son of William CORBIN and James EASTON son of John EASTON.}

Louisa E. CORBIN married Andrew M. EASTON on April 11, 1867 in Washington, Iowa.

The other families that interest me are GRAVES, BREITKREUTZ and BLOEDORN. However, several excellent histories have been done on each, so I am going to leave them at that. For now, that is.
