Thank you to all who have helped me to solve some of the pieces to the puzzle called my family.

I grew up in Wayne county Illinois, my father and grandfather were both Redtop seed buyers (Wayne county was the Redtop seed capital of the world in the 1930's). I was among the last of the individuals who actually worked around a thrashing machine.

Even though I have lived in Florida for over 20 years, Cisne, Illinois is still "home".

My hobbies are computers, geneaology, woodworking and camping.

  • Old Farm House near Cisne Illinois (99 KB)
    George W. Spalding received the land from the United States of America in 1863 & built a log cabin. This house was then built around the log cabin.
  • " Grandma Jones " (58 KB)
    She lived in Meigs County Ohio at the start of the civil war. after the death of her husband, she left Ohio in a covered wagon, with 5 children under 10, and came to Illinois.
