C, 10th Battalion, North Carolina Heavy Artillery Rank: Private Enlisted: March 24, 1863, Union County, by Lt. Harkey Period: Three years or during the war. Notes Hampton served with his son, Thomas Salathiel Huntley (1846-1924.) The records indicate that he was absent without leave for more than two months in the fall of 1863, but that he was welcomed back in November.
