Thomas Byrd Robertson, Sr. (son of John Robertson and Frances Smith) was born 1817 in Franklin County, Virginia, and died 1865 in Richmond, Virginia. He married Charlotte Divers on 07 Feb 1842 in Franklin County, Virginia, daughter of Aquilla Divers and Nancy Bradley.

Notes for Thomas Byrd Robertson, Sr.:
Moved to Kanawha County, VA in the early 1860's but returned prior to 1867.

2nd Virginia Cavalry

Muster roll reads, "Robertson, Thomas Bird: Pvt. Co. D Enl. Culpeper CH 5/15/63 as substitute for Elijah T. McGuire. Captured Ps. 7/5/63 on rolls but not on Federal POW rolls. Exchanged. Present, dismounted 3-4/64. Ab. on horse detail 5-6/64. Present 7-8/64. Ab. sick with "Frb. Interm." in Richmond Hospital 3/25/65. NFR."

Died in a Richmond Confederate Hospital, buried at Hollywood Cemetery in RIchmond, Virginia, inventory of Franklin County, 16 March 1867.
