"Ada U. Hagerman Union County native Ada U. Hagerman, 89, of Turbotville, RR1, died at 6:05 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, 1995, in the Lewisburg United Methodist Homes, where she had resided since April 1, 1993. A Union County native, she was born in West Milton on Sept. 10, 1906, a duaghter of the late Elmer E. and Mary C. (Keefer) Becher. She was the widow of Lee J. Hagerman, who preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 1982. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Turbotville for over 70 years and had been a member of the Anthony Township Republican Club, the California Grange 941, the Northern Montour Garden Club and the Limestone Homemakers. Surviving are two daughters, Miriam R. Simpson of Turbotville, RR1, and Pauline M. Stahl of Watsontown; four sons, Donald D., Jay M., and Robert L. of Turbotville RR1 and Richard E. of Turbotville RR2; 22 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The last of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held this morning at 11 a.m. in the William F. Brooks Home, Turbotville, with the Rev. Ralph L. Heagy, her pastor, officiating. Burial was in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy RR2. Pall bearers were Daniel Simpson, Gary Hagerman, James Hagerman, Scott Hagerman, Curtis Hagerman, and Kerry Stahl, all grandsons of the deceased."[hagerman update.FTW]

Was she named after her first cousin, Aida Evelyn Keefer, daughter of James C. Keefer? Her middle name comes from her grandmother, Utica (Herman) Keefer, as she told me.
