Peter Deshler (son of Adam Deschler and Appolonia) was born 18 Mar 1742/43 in Egypt, Whitehall Twp., Leigh Co., PA, and died 28 Sep 1800 in Allen Twp., Northampton Co., PA. He married Magdalena Mickley, daughter of John Jacob Mickley and Elizabeth Barbara Burkhalter.

Charles R. Robert's "History of Lehigh Co., PA and A Genealogical & Biographical Record of its Families," 1914, 3 volumes, page 238-9 gives the background on Peter's family. It lists the following eight children:
1) John Peter, 1767
2) Catharine, born March 14, 1769; died young
3) David, 1773
4) Catharine, born April 19, 1775
5) Susanna, born January 13, 1778, died July 23, 1834. She married John Yundt.
6) Jacob, born March 30, 1781
7) Magdalena, born October 5, 1784
8) Sara, born August 23, 1788, married Jacob Weaver

Minnie F. Mickley's compilation of "The Genealogy of the Mickley Family of America," Mickleys: 1893 does not list the family of Peter & Magdalena (Mickley) Deshler and neither does the revised--addition of Ada Bonebrake Hicks "A Genealogy of the Mickley Family," Waynesboro: Caslon Press, 1980.
