AGED TURBOTVILLE RESIDENT IS DEAD
Henry Buittner, Who Moved to This County From the Fatherland Many Years Ago, Dies Suddenly at Age of 80
By Special Correspondence. Turbotville, April 7--Turbotville lost one of her oldest residents by death, early this morning, when Henry Buittner died at the age of eighty years. Death came very suddenly this morning at three o'clock. Mr. Buittner came to Turbotville from Germany many years ago, and has been one of the town's most respected citizens. He was a blacksmith by trade, and through this work became very well known throughout this vicinity. About ten years ago, Mr. Buittner fell and injured his hip. The injury left him partially crippled, and he was forced to give up his work. The funeral announcement will appear in tomorrow's Standard.

HENRY BUITTNER HAD INTERESTING CAREER
Aged Native of the Fatherland, Who Died Yesterday at Turbotville, Came to America in 1854--Visited Boyhood Home Fourteen Years Ago
By Special Correspondence. Turbotville, April 8--The death early yesterday morning of Henry C. F. Buittner closed an interesting career. Mr. Buittner was born at Groombach, Germany, January 4, 1828, and came to America in 1854, at the age of twenty-six. The following year he moved to Turbotville, and since that time, for more than sixty years, he has made his home here. His wife who also was a native of the Fatherland, died in 1900. For many years Mr. Buittner had followed the trade of a blacksmith. About eight years ago, while shoeing a horse, he met with an accident, and his left hip was permanently injured. For several years he was compiled to use crutches. He has been in good health all winter. Last Sunday he tripped in the kitchen and fell. The apparently trivial injury he sustained in the fall proved to be serious, and caused his death at three o'clock yesterday morning, as stated in yesterday's Standard. He was conscious until death came. Fourteen years ago, the aged German, together with tow younger brothers, visited his boyhood home at Groombach. They spent a year in Germany, and then Mr. Buittner returned to Turbotville. He was a charter member of the Warrior Run Lodge No. 645, I.O.O.F. and was the oldest member of the lodge. Surviving him are two sons and two daughters: Henry, of Jackson, Mich.; Fred, at home; Mrs. Julia Henderson, of Williamsport, and Mrs. Mary C. Dreisbach, of town. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at one o'clock, from the home of D.P. Dreisbach. Services will be held in Zion's Lutheran church of which the deceased was a member, by Rev. W.Z. Artz. Interment will be made in the Turbotville cemetery.
