Notes for Cherry: Research of Preston B. Davis states that Mary Chery Keefer's father is James Cherry who came from NJ (Sussex or Hunterdon Co.) and settled at "Irish Settlement" in Shamokin Twp., Northumberland Co., PA where he is probably buried at.

Sons Charles Cherry; Philip Cherry, John Cherry, Joseph Cherry, Abraham Cherry, daughter Mary Cherry, son James Cherry, Jesse Cherry, Reuben Cherry, daughter Elisabeth Cherry, son Burras (?) Cherry. Made on January 31, 1790. Will and Testament was proved & approved on Nov 19, 1804, Elisabeth Cherry, Executrix.
Though the above has the Mary and Charles Cherry has sibblings, our Charles was born (1807) after this father's death (1804). In addition, Mary was born in 1795 after the Will was made (1790) therefore her name would not have appeared on it.
1794--Will. NJ Archives 1st Series vol. XXXVIII Abstract of Wills, vol. IX 1796-1800, page 214. There is a Mary Kiple/Kyple, daughter of Jacob & Catharine Kiple/Kyple of Amwell Twp., Hunterdon Co., NJ who married a James Cherry. Father Kiple died before March 2 1797.
