TIME LINE FOR THE MEN NAMED SHADRACK
STANLEY
For the
purpose of this discussion, the men named Shadrack and their kin will be
identified numerically:
Shadrack1: Born between 1750 - 1760 in old Dobbs County,
NC. He was a BROTHER to Sands Stanley who married Zilpha Edwards.
Shadrack2: Born about 1761 in old Dobbs County, NC. He was a SON of Sands
Stanley who married Zilpha Edwards.
It must be noted that Sands Sr. died
in South Carolina in 1796. He and Zilpha had sons
Shadrack2 (born about 1761 in NC)
and
Sands2 (born about 1772 in NC)
Shadrack2 had a son named Shadrack3
(born 1814 in GA)
Sands2 had a son named Shadrack4
Sands (born 1821 in AL)
Shadrack4 had a son named Shadrack5
(born 1847 in GA)
1776:
Both Shadrack1 and Sands1 were revolutionary Patriots in North Carolina
1788:
Both Shadrack and Sands1 were listed as revolutionary Patriots in Georgia
--Shadrack1
was in Georgia by 1782 for the birth of his first son, Jordan Stanley.
1786 Drew
Headright Grant in Washington County.
Land
Grants in old Washington (now Hancock) County 1784, 1788 and 1790.
Verified
tax records, Georgia militia service and land deeds locate him in today's
Hancock
County from 1785 - 1793.
-- A
Sands Stanley was in Georgia
1787 in
Washington County - land grant
1793 in
Montgomery County - land grant
1797 in
Montgomery Co tax lists
Because
Sands2 was born 1772, at least two (land grants) of these records would belong
to Sands1.
--
Shadrack2 was in Cheraws District, South Carolina
Land
Grants issued in Cheraws District:
(1)
Sep. 20, 1784...200 acres on Swift Creek.
(2)
Jan. 25, 1787...230 acres on Indian Branch.
(3) Oct. 2, 1794...110 acres on east side of Indian
Creek.
1790
census
1795 He
drew bounty land grant in Cheraws, SC
--Shadrack2
was in Georgia
1803
Register cattle brand in Montgomery County, GA
1804 he
bought land and was granted land in Tattnall County, GA
Appears
that Shadrack2 did not come to GA before his father's death, and
perhaps
as late as 1800. In 1805 Shadrack1 was in Jackson County tax lists and
Shadrack2
was in Tattnall County tax lists.
